FLYING FLAGS 2009 RECAP
Heavy rains on Tuesday and Wednesday before the rally caused some consternation.
But, by Thursday blue skies and sunshine were back, greeting some 35 attendees at our Flying Flags 2009 Rally in Buellton, CA. Several were 'new' Bluebird coach owners and/or first time rally attendees. We also had several day-trippers visit and tour the coaches.
As usual, everyone had a lot of fun, and new friends were met.
Friday night, most attendees bought a Flying Flags' BBQ dinner and brought it to the clubhouse where everyone met to eat dinner and socialize. Denise Benson baked one of her special SWBB cakes for the occasion. Many thanks to Denise for her enthusiastic support for the group.
On Saturday, couch tours were conducted, with Tom McCarthy showing the new flooring that Ernie Ekberg installed. Jim and Linda Marsh showed their 'new' coach and it's new flooring, also installed by Ernie. Several day-trippers, who want to buy a Bluebird coach came to the rally to see and tour the coaches.
On Saturday night, we had our signature, "BYOB 'and Bring Your Best Hearty Hors D'oeuvres to Share' SOCIAL" at the clubhouse. Everyone brought their favorite dish to share, and everyone had a great time socializing, again.
On Sunday, after group photos were taken, most attendees headed home. A few stayed an extra day or so, with Jim and Denise Benson leading an excursion to 'The Madonna Inn' in San Luis Obispo for a tour and lunch. During the group photo session, Phil announced that Chuck and Tela Millsap were celebrating their 39th wedding anniversary that day. Congratulations were extended by everyone.
So, another successful rally passes, new friends are made, and potential new Bluebirds owners got one step closer -- it was a great weekend!
