MOVIN' AROUND

WELCOME TO THE 'SOUTHWEST BLUEBIRDS and friends' WEBSITE...

After deciding to sponsor the yearly  "SWBB and friends:  ANNUAL  BLUEBIRD QUARTZSITE RALLY",  in addition to our rallies in California, it became clear that tracking, and emailing announcements to two or three lists of participants in different functions,  would be a chore.  I decided to set up a website that centralizes information regarding our activities.    Now, a quick update to the website, and a quick email announcement about the update to the member list, keeps everyone current about our plans.

All information contained within the website is subject to change at any time, so check back often to stay current.

I've arranged the site using the folder and sub-folder arrangement we are used to working with on our computers.

The major  "folders"  (pages) are the listed as page links in the header area above.  When you open a page, you will find a topic list, or "sub-folders",  that contain specific information regarding the page you are on.  The "sub-folder" link titles are blue in color, and indicate the information contained within.  Click on the blue sub-link title to open the page and read the information.

Many of the pages contain sidebars that allow you to send an email message directly to Curt or myself.  Use the dropdown menus to pick your subject, type any information requested in the sidebar, and press send.

At the bottom of some pages you will see the word, "COMMENT."  Click on the word and a window opens that allows you to post a message that can be read by anyone visiting the website.  Readers can post replies.

Currently, I'm leaving the website open so anyone can visit.  If problems arise in the future, i.e., unauthorized use of any kind, spam, etc.,  I'll close it and require authorization and a password for access.

On all the pages,  words that are underlined and/or bracketed by left/right arrows, indicate an external URL or email address link.  Click on the underlined or bracketed words go to an external web page or to send an email message.

An email link should open your default email application.  If not, please go to the 'EMAIL PAGE' to send us an email.

A SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING OUR DATABASES AND EMAIL LISTS:

When you join our group, the information you provide is entered in our master database.  Curt and I both maintain a copy of the database.

The information you provide for our database is considered confidential and is not disclosed to anyone unless you give us WRITTEN permission to share some, or all, of your personal information with other SWBB members.  Your preferences are noted in our databases.

If you have not advised us, in writing, of your information sharing preferences,  we assume none is to be shared  until you advise otherwise.

If  a member wants to contact another member, please use the 'EMAIL PAGE' to send your request.  We'll send you contact information, if permission has been granted, or forward your request.

EMAIL LIST:    Currently, I maintain two email lists -- a general list that contains email addresses of everyone listed in our database; and a separate CALIFORNIA/SOUTHWEST  (CA/SW) Region list that contains only those members who live in California, Nevada, and  Arizona.

The general list is used to send date information regarding the Annual Bluebird Quartzsite Rally.

The CA/SW Region list is used to send information regarding our rallies in California.

Occasionally, I'll send an email about our California rallies to the general list to inform everyone about our plans.  This allows out of region folks to plan a visit with us if they happen to be traveling through.

To maintain confidentiality, I bulk email messages to the email lists using the 'Bcc' (Blind copy) function.   This avoids that long list of email addresses you see when someone forwards a message without deleting them first.    The message you receive is the same message received and seen by all the other members of our group.
